Needles:
1pair of circular needles size 4,0mm - 5,0mm or size needed to achieve given tension.
1 crochet hook size 3,0mm - 3,5mm
Stitch Pattern:
Stockinette st: RS rows: k all sts and in WS rows: p all sts.
Garter st.:
RS and WS rows: k all sts
Striped patt with garter st ribbing (centre stripe on the sleeves):
Alt 6 rows in stockinette st and 4 work in garter st.
Ribbing (amount of sts multiple of 2 plus 1)
RS rows: k all sts between selvedge sts.
WS rows: 1 selvedge st, alt k 1, p 1 and end row with k 1, selvedge st.
Slipped selvedge st.: At beg of row k 1 tbl and at the end of the row sl 1 k-wise wyif.
Accentuated decreases on right-hand side of work:
The decs are always done on the RS rows. 1 selvedge st, k 1, skp, then finish the row in patt.
Accentuated decreases on left-hand side of work:
The decs are always done on the RS rows. Work row in patt until 4 sts (including selvedge st) rem on needle then k2tog, k 1, 1 selvedge st.
Tension: (glatt rechts)
20 sts and 26 rows to 10 cm meas. over stocking stitch using size 4,5mm needles or size needed to achieve given tension.
Instructions: (changes for larger size given in brackets if only one number is given this applies to both sizes.)
Back:
Cast on 116 [122] sts (including 2 selvedge sts).
Row 1 (WS): 1 selvedge st, alt k 1, p 1 and end row with k 1, selvedge st.
Cont in rib patt for 3 rows total ending with a WS row.
Next row: selvedge st, cont. ribbing as established over next 5 sts, 104 [110] sts in stockinette, cont. ribbing as established over next 5 sts, selvedge st.
Cont. straight for 25 rows (10 cm total height) then work stockinette st over all sts.
When work meas total of 57 [59] cm (149 [155] cm) for the shoulder shaping on in each edge in every row cast off 4 sts 7 [6] times and 6 sts once [twice]. Place remaining 48 [50] sts on a holder.
Front:
Work as given for Back until row 13 (5 cm) then work stockinette over all sts. and until 5 cm less have been worked than on Back to start of shoulder shaping.
Work until total of 52 [54] cm from cast on ending with a WS row.
Next row (= row 135 [141]): divide work and place centre 36 [38] sts on holder and work both sides separately.
Shape Front Neck: AT THE SAME TIME AS SHOULDER SHAPING
Along each neck edge work accentuated decreases in every alt row 6 times.
Sleeves: (make two)
Cast on 43 [49] sts and beg as for Back with 1st row as WS row of ribbing and 3 additional rows of ribbing.
Next row: selvedge st, 14 [16] sts in stockinette, 13 [15] sts in striped patt, 14 [16] sts stockinette, selvedge st.
Work straight for 10 rows ending with a WS row.
For the sleeve shaping in every 10th row 10 times: (= 63 [69] sts)
Selvedge st, M1 tbl, work in patt to last st then M1 tbl, selvedge st.
Cont. straight until sleeve meas total of 47 [49] cm ( = 123 [129] rows) ending with a WS row.
Next row: cast off all sts evenly.
Making up:
Close one shoulder seam. For the rolled neck edge with right sides facing pick up and knit along the neck edges 106 [114] sts and work 6 rows in stockinette st (1st row = WS) then cast off all sts even. Close the second shoulder seam along with the neck edging. Set in sleeves. Close the side and sleeve seams using back stitch, or mattress stitch as preferred making sure to keep the seams flat and elastic and leaving the bottom 5 or 10 cm for the side slit open (see diagram). Sew on applications to the front as in the picture. For the lettering, using a length of Cotton Quick Uni approx. 110 cm long, crochet a chain. (Do not finish or cut the yarn at the end in case you need to shorten or lengthen the chain). Sew the lettering on to the front of the jumper with black sewing thread or Cotton Quick Uni in black.
