Stitch Pattern:
Ribbing: (amount of sts multiple of 2 plus 1) (worked between selvedge sts)
WS rows: alt k1, p1 and end row with k1
RS rows: work the sts as they appear (k the knit sts and p the purl sts)
Lace Patt: (see chart) (amount of sts multiple of 20 plus 1 plus 2 selvedge sts)
Only the RS rows are shown in chart. In the WS rows work the sts as they appear and p1 over the yo’s.

Garter slipped selvedge:
At beg of row k1 tbl and at end of each row sl1 p-wise wyif.
Tension:
22 sts and 27 rows to 10 cm meas. (slightly stretched) over lace patt using size 4,0 mm needles or size needed to achieve given tension.
20 sts and 27 rows to 10 cm meas. (slightly stretched) over rib patt using size 4,0 mm needles or size needed to achieve given tension.

The Poncho is worked as a rectangle in once piece (see diagram). Width approx. 46 [55] cm and total length approx. 145 [157] cm.
Beg at back, cast on 103 [123] sts (incl. 2 selvedge sts) and work 4 rows in rib patt beg with a WS row, then
Next row (WS): p all sts.
Next row: selvedge st, 1 st before patt repeat in chart for lace patt, 5 [6] times patt repeat over 20 sts, end row with selvedge st.
Rep. patt 24 [26] times in height.
Row 389 [421] (approx. 143,5 [155] cm total height)(RS): work 4 rows in rib patt.
Next row: cast off all sts loosely in patt.
Making up:
Pin out poncho to measurements given, cover with a clean, damp cloth and leave to dry naturally out of sunlight. Do not steam press. Close shoulder seam as shown in diagram (= right working edge or first 2 sts of beg of lace pattern). With right sides facing pick up 49 [57] sts along the sleeve edge (24 [28] cm as shown in diagram). Work in rib patt and in every 8th row dec 1 st each side 2 times as foll.: selvedge st, k2tog or p2tog to cont. in patt given, work to end of row in patt then k2tog or p2tog, selvedge st. = 45 [53] sts. When sleeve meas 8 cm total cast off all sts loosely in patt. Close sleeve seam. Weave in ends.
