Collar pattern: (Stitch number divisible by 2)
RSR and BR: alternately knt. between the ES 1 S ri and 1 S le
Basic pattern: (Stitch number divisible by 4 + 2 ES)
knt. between the ES alternating between 1 brioche stitch (= in the BR: lift S with yov le, in the BR: knt. 1 S with yov ri) and 3 S garter right (= RSR and BR: ri S).
plain right:
RSR: ri S, BR: le S
Nodule end stitches:
at row start, knt. as to ri, drop, kn. ri to row end
Stitch test:
Collar pattern: (measure slightly turned): 26 S x 32 R = 10 cm x 10 cm
Basic pattern: 22 S x 46 R = 10 cm x 10 cm
Instructions:
Hat:
The hat is knitted open in the RSR and BR.
Cast on 110 S plus 2 ES, start with a RSR and knt. 14 cm (= 45 R) in the collar pattern. knt. the following BR as follows: 1 ES, 1 S ri, 27 x (1 brioche stitch and 3 S ri), end with 1 brioche stitch and 1 ES. The continue with the basic pattern as follows: 1 ES, 27 x (1 brioche stitch and 3 S garter ri), end with 1 brioche stitch, 1 S garter right and 1 ES. At a total height of 27 cm (= 104 R) from casting on, prepare each of the drops in the RSR as follows, while continuing the garter right ribs and brioche stitches over the remaining S:
105th R: knt. tog. the first two S of each garter stitch rip (= each two S after the brioche stitch), also knt. tog. the last S with the ES. (= 84 S)
107th Rd. knt. without drops.
109th R: knt. tog. each of the two rows between the brioche stitches. (= 57 S)
Now end the hat plain right:
111th R: between the ES, knt. tog. each 4th + 5th S ri). (= 46 S)
113. R: between the ES, knt. tog. each 3rd + 4th S ri. (= 35 S)
115th R, between the ES, knt. tog. each 2nd + 3rd S ri. (= 24 S)
117th R: between the ES knt. tog. each 2 S ri. (= 13 S)
Pull the remaining 13 S together with the working thread. Close the backward seam. Make sure that the seam is on the outside with the lower 7 cm of the collar pattern (= yarn over). From the start of the basic pattern, close the seam using the mattress stitch (= pierce the nodule edge stitches alternating between 1 x right and 1 x left; this makes the seam almost invisible). Create a bobble of Ø 9 cm and attach to the hat.
Loop:
Cast on 53 S plus 2 ES and start with 1 BR in the following stitch arrangement: 1 ES, 13 x (1 brioche stitch, 3 S ri), end with 1 brioche stitch and 1 ES. Continue from the following RSR with this stitch arrangement: 1 ES, 13 x (1 brioche stitch, 3 S garter right), end with 1 brioche stitch and 1 ES. At a total height of 130 cm (= 600 R), co. all S straight, knt. the S as they occur. Close the cast on and cast off edges flat.
