Instructions:
Hat:
The hat is worked in rows back and forth.
Using col. 12 (dark blue) cast on 95 sts (including 2 selvedge sts) and k all sts in 1st WS row.
Then work 15 rows in col. seq. in garter st.
Next row (row 16): selvedge st, * k 11, M1 tbl, rep from * 7 times more ending row with k 5, 1 selvedge st. = 103 sts.
Cont. straight for total of 61 rows (15cm) in col. sequence in sl st patt.
Finish hat in dark blue and in garter st patt.
Row 62: selvedge st, k2 tog, *k 5, k 2 tog, rep from * 13 times more ending row with k 1, 1 selvedge st. = 88 sts.
Row 63 - 65 and all foll rows not noted: work in garter st.
Row 66: selvedge st, k2 tog, *k 4, k 2 tog, rep from *, 1 selvedge st. = 73 sts.
Row 70: selvedge st, k2 tog, *k 3, k 2 tog, rep from *, 1 selvedge st. = 58 sts.
Row 74: selvedge st, *k 2, k 2 tog, rep from *, 1 selvedge st. = 58 sts.
Row 78: selvedge st, *k 1, k 2 tog, rep from *, 1 selvedge st. = 30 sts.
Row 80: *k 2 tog, rep from * to end = 15 sts.
Break yarn and thread through open sts twice and pull tightly closed. Close back seam as flat as possible using back stitch, or mattress stitch as preferred making sure to keep the seams flat and elastic. Attach fur pompom to top of hat.
Snood:
Using col. 14 (chocolate) cast on 49 sts (incl. 4 selvedge sts - 2 each side) and k all sts in 1st WS row.
Next row (RS): Work in col. rep. and starting with col. 12 (dark blue) work 36 rows in garter st patt, with 2 selvedge sts on each edge.
Cont. work in Slip st patt and in col. rep. until work meas. total of 130cm ending with a WS row and in col. 14 (chocolate). Then work 2 rows in col. 12 (dark blue) in garter st. patt.
